Paul Niemiec’s work reflects his country upbringing and his interest in the tradition of American Realism. His themes are drawn primarily from personal experiences in upstate New York and coastal Maine, and typically deal with the effect of light and atmosphere upon color and value relationships in nature. He enjoys working in varied mediums to challenge himself, and these mediums include watercolor, oil, combined mediums, egg tempera, and printmaking.
